Mélane was born in Cameroon, West Central Africa, to a French globetrotting family from Reims (Champagne country!) Hence her taste for travel started at a very young age.
At 16 she started working on the French Riviera and then to improve her English took an Au Pair position in New York. Itchy feet after a year and a half in the Big Apple she moved to Corsica to work in the restaurant business where she met a restaurateur who talked to her about St Barths. It stayed in the back of her mind and once the itchy feet returned, Mélane decided to give it a try.
Mélane joined Les Ilets in 2012 to replace Carine’s maternity leave, which then extended into Parental Leave. Mélane is now a solid and adored member of our team, working tirelessly to ensure the wellbeing of all our guests. Settled now on this beautiful island, having met the love of her life here too.. her feet are somewhat less itchy & we are delighted!
Mélane was promoted to joint Resort Manager along with Carine in December 2015 and was overjoyed to welcome her beautiful baby Sasha in November 2017.
