Aurélie Houdayer

Originally from Normandy in France, Aurélie studied tourism and started her career working in travel agencies in France. Encouraged by her brother to join the hotel sector, she joined the Royal Barrière Hotel in Deauville, a four-star property on the Normandy coast where she met her husband to be, Damien.

Passionate about travel and discovery, in 2004 Aurélie decided to join her older brother (a gourmet chef at the Carl Gustaf hotel) in warmer climes. She joined the Carl Gustaf team, taking care of reception, reservations and concierge. In 2005, Aurélie furthered her career by joining the prestigious Hotel Guanahani in St Barths, where she spent 13 wonderful and very rewarding years managing the individual and group reservations department.

In 2019, Aurélie and her family moved back to the Bassin d'Arcachon, near Bordeaux in France, for an Assistant Management position in a small, hand-picked group in South West France. Aurélie and her husband returned for a vacation to their beloved St Barths in March 2022 and realised how much they had missed the island and island life. In the Summer of 2022, they decided to return to settle in St Barths with their beautiful family, and Aurélie joined Laurie's team, at Îlets de la Plage, as Resort Manager.

Aurélie loves meeting guests, getting to know them, and ensuring they get the absolute best out of their vacation. She enjoys working with and encouraging her team. Backed by her 20 years of experience, commitment and dedication in the hotel industry, Aurélie seeks above all to please customers, and is committed to their well-being and to doing everything possible so that guests naturally feel they are in their home from home.

Aurélie is very organised by nature… no choice as a mother of 4 children, including triplets!! She has always been able to combine her personal and professional life with ease, with a shared love for her professional career, her family, her taste for sport, her friends and her life on the island.

Delighted with her return to Saint Barth and her new position at Les Îlets de la Plage, Aurélie simply cannot imagine any other place on earth where she would prefer to be…
